A Culinary Journey with Chef Avinash Martins’ Workshop @ JW Marriot, Pune (India)

As I reflect on the treasured experience of attending Chef Avinash Martins’ Workshop, I discover myself transported to a world where culinary artistry knows no bounds.



This workshop was nothing short of a gastronomic odyssey, a symphony of flavours orchestrated by the masterful hands of Chef Avinash with his associate Chef Karan Thakur.


From the moment I stepped into Pasha, one of the Speciality Outlets of JW, I was enveloped in an atmosphere of imagination and excitement. The mise en place was a meticulously organized canvas of vibrant ingredients, each one poised to play its part in the culinary masterpiece that was about to unfold. Chef Avinash’s presence was both commanding and nurturing, his expertise and experience emanating with each word and gesture.


Throughout the workshop, I was struck by the seamless fusion of tradition and innovation. Chef Avinash’s effortlessly blended classical techniques with innovative concepts, elevating every dish to a realm of sublime perfection. His mastery over the culinary craft was evident in the precise knife work, the delicate balance of flavours, and the artful presentation of items he prepared.



One of the highlights of the workshop was the interactive nature of the experience. Chef Avinash encouraged questions and discussions, inviting participants to not only learn recipes, but to understand the underlying principles of flavour combinations and cooking techniques. His patience and willingness to share his wealth of knowledge created an environment of true learning and growth.


The culinary creations that emerged from his guidance were nothing short of spectacular. All dishes he prepared bore the unmistakable signature of Chef Avinash’s artistry, a testament to his unwavering dedication to the craft.


As the workshop drew to a close, a sense of gratitude washed over me. I was grateful not only for the delectable feast that had graced my senses, but for the invaluable lessons in technique, creativity, and passion that Chef Avinash’s had imparted. His workshop was a beacon of inspiration, a reminder that the pursuit of culinary excellence is a journey worth embarking upon.



The masterclass concluded with a proper sit-down lunch where participants had the opportunity to savor the delectable delights prepared by Chef Avinash . It was a moment of shared accomplishment and a celebration of the newfound skills acquired under his expert guidance.



In closing, I extend my heartfelt thanks Vivek Rana (Executive Chef: JW) for extending the invite and obviously to Chef Avinash Martins for sharing his expertise and passion with us. This workshop was a culinary voyage that will forever be etched in the memory of all of us. It was a privilege to be a part of this extraordinary experience, and I leave with a renewed sense of awe and appreciation for the art of gastronomy.
